Thieves Target Outboard Motors
Grants Pass, OR ― Last week, the Sheriff’s Office received three separate reports of outboard motors taken from drift boats parked outside owners’ residences in southwest Grants Pass.
All three boats were visible from the road, making them easy and obvious targets to thieves. The motors were locked on the boats, but thieves used bolt cutters to remove them.
The values of the outboard motors ranged from $1000 to $2800.
The Sheriff’s Office would like to ask citizens to be vigilant and keep valuable property out of sight whenever possible.

Theft of property valued at over $1,000 is Theft I, a Class C Felony.
